I'm a celebrity - get me outta here!!

Hey all! Well you probably haven't heard, but last night Wellington had a (minor) earthquake, it was off the coast of the south island but boy did I pee my pants!! I've experienced quakes in Christchurch last Christmas but never in my own home! So needless to say I am glad to be getting out of the country today!

I am currently sat in the business lounge at Auckland airport, sipping bubbles in celebration of being granted an upgrade. NOT a free one, before you ask HOW, but one using my airpoints. They're still like magic dust to come by, so I'm pretty chuffed and hope it'll make the next 26 hours of flying a little nicer!

So here's one of the new purchases I mentioned last time: the sickest shoes i've ever owned. So bad they're amazing. These shots were taken after a very long day: waking at 6am with a sickness bug, doing a market 12-5, packing my suitcases and then having the shock of the quake! So excuse the tiredness :)

What I wore: Crab Racing

Hello there! Yes, you read correctly! One evening in Mana Island they organised a crab race! There were ten crabs, each with a number painted on its shell. First there was an auction for people to buy a crab - they were all named after a country and a famous person from that country - Dan Carter from New Zealand, Jackie Chan from China, Johnny Wilkinson from England etc etc...

The bf had taken $70 FJD to the crab racing, and I thought that would be MORE than enough for a bit of fun. But NO! We were outbid on every single crab! The most expensive crab was over $100!!

When bidding was finished, they placed all the crabs in the middle of a chalk circle, and the first three crabs to cross the chalk line were the winners. First prize was $370!!!!!!!! Who'd have thought there'd be so much money in racing crabs?!

More Parcels!!

HOLA! I am back from koala land! Or should I say, RAINVILLE! It rained SO much on Monday!! I think my shoes are probably still not 100% dry!

We had a great time and I will post photos this week. I am more excited about what was waiting on my doorstep at midnight when I arrived home!

This baby was an unexpected treat!! I LOVE mail and parcels in particular!! (Who doesn't, right!?). It was from my lovely lovely Mum. Here's what she sent me:

I love this headband and it is totally something I will wear! It came unstuck in the post so I will have to mend it first.

Royal Wedding Dress Up!

Hello my little lovelies! Today is the day some people have been anticipating for weeks - the Royal Wedding. As a Brit, I'm actually not too fussed about the wedding. I think it's lovely that Wills is marrying Kate, and can just imagine how exciting it is to be involved with such a wedding. But I'm not involved and so there ends my interest!

Even in NZ we are celebrating the wedding. We DON'T get the day off work (booo hiss) (and I discovered we don't get May Day off either - booo hiss), but we were sent an email in work yesterday inviting us to dress in a royal wedding theme and to have a little tea party this afternoon. We're 11 hours ahead of the UK so they're all tucked up in bed right now and the wedding footage actually commences at 6.30pm this evening.

I spent a little while rifling through my wardrobe last night for a frock suitable for fun as well as sitting in work all day, but gave up. In the end, I went with my new faux fur, some real pearls and a splash of red lippy. I thought I would rock snooty, aristocratic chic my way! ;)

I pretty much always wear nude lipstick and forgot how much fun it is wearing red!This is an old No. 7 lipstick in shade Moulin Rouge. I used to work part-time in Boots and could guarantee that each shift a customer would compliment me when I wore this shade! :D
