The end of a weekend in Noosa (and the lime blazer again!)

Hi all! Well you all had a peek of the lime blazer that I bought in Brisbane. I love it THAT much that I had to wear it out again on our last night in Noosa. :)

We went for a fantastic meal (and cocktails!) at bistro c, which was right on the beach. Fun!

My new lime blazer - you can't really see much else of the outfit in these pics so I wont bother listing them
Blazer, Dissh.

I wore my extensions again....
In the evening they blend pretty well. I've not worn them in daylight yet!

Before dinner we took a stroll to the backpackers that I'd stayed in last time. We didn't go in as I'm pretty sure we'd have looked out of place!
This was where we ate!
Right on the beach!

We had a lovely meal - go to bistro c if you're ever in Noosa!
Here's a sneak peek of one of the pairs of earrings I bought in Brisbane.
Skull earrings, Lovisa; Sunglasses, O'Neill.

And before we knew it it was time to head back to the airport. BOO!

The good the bad and the ugly.

And I am referring to my hair here!!

A couple of weeks ago, I reported my HORRENDOUS hair cut, or maiming as I like to call it, from Getfunkd Manners!
Well, here are some pics of it! In actual fact, the photos don't do the haircut justice - you can't see the uneven ends, the wedges of ridiculously hacked layers and the blunt "unblending" (my technical term).

I could live with the colour-fail (due to re-dying) but the layers have made my hair super thin :(

In photos it's hard to tell how thick the wedges are - I have extremely thick hair and these chunks are 90% of my hair, with about 10% left straggly and long underneath....and they're not shaped or tapered or layered - they're just chunks! Almost like she was cutting a bob and then left 10% of hair underneath like a mullet!
Now this is hilarious!!!! I didn't get shown the back of my hair at the salon - you can see why!! Is this dip-dye?! NO!!!
Here you can see the blunt layers, the line of the bleaching and more blunt layers

90% of my hair ends around that line. Then 10% look like crappy hair extensions underneath.

Nice!!
I hate my face in this photo - but I hate the haircut even more!!
This is the hair when I've blow dried it with my usual Denman brush - a mess! I have to straighten the heck out of it now. I never used to need straighteners.

Again, 90% of the hair ends at the line, and with the natural wave bounces up - and the long bits just stay straggly and straight.

My attempt to show you how thick the wedges are. It's like a wig on top of a mullet!
I am still having to live with this ridiculous haircut although I have spent another $200 at another salon having it fixed as best as possible.

It is now one colour! But hairbands have become a daily staple due to the huge weft of layers that end at my chin. I'm considering clip in extensions for nights out, but don't know if they well blend in properly. I PROMISE photos of the current state soon!!

I've been maimed

Well not exactly. But I went for a haircut on Saturday and came out, four hours later, $300 bucks down, with the WORST hair cut I've ever actually seen. I struggled not to use an expletive there, so please give me credit!

I'm an impatient kinda person, and when I decide I want my hair done, I want it done straight away. For two weeks I'd been trying to get into my usual salon, so instead I went to another popular salon in town called Get Funkd. You can guess what I've now renamed it as.

I went in with a photo of this hair:
Yeah, I'd take the body too, but that wasn't on offer. Neither was the hair in fact!

And came out with this hair:
It would be funny if it weren't so horrendous!

I spent Sunday in tears. The bf spent Sunday reassuring me it looked good.
I spent Monday morning in work with horrified colleagues exclaiming they'd never seen a haircut like it. My hair was butchered!

So I have been back to the salon, asked for refund which they are apparently processing today. I also went to my usual salon for an independent opinion and they couldn't believe it. Basically my hair looks like a shoddy, wonky, half hacked, unfinished long bob, with wispy blond straggly bits poking out underneath like cheap extensions!

I am going to my usual salon on Thursday for them to re-colour my blonde 'bits' and blend the 'bob' into the straggly ends - and from then on I will just be waiting months and months for it to grow back.

I will get the bf to take pics of the horror tomorrow. It truly is hard to describe how bad it is, I'm genuinely not being over dramatic! I've never seen anything like it!!

Have you ever had a hair 'mare?!? What did you do?!

The Eternal Hair Dilemma!

Hi all! TGIF! And it's a long weekend here in NZ so that makes it DOUBLY exciting. The bf and I are heading up the coast to New Plymouth. It's a five hour drive so we're going to set off tomorrow morning and take it easy, stopping for lunch on the way. Hope the weather is kind to us!

Well I'm currently having one of my ETERNAL hair considerations...I've booked an appointment to get tips of my hair lightened slightly for a 'sunkissed' look now that spring is on its way!

I've had long hair my WHOLE LIFE and as much as I love it, I do get fed up with it and occasionally try to 'change it up a bit' whilst keeping the length. I've tried countless 'side fringes' and a couple of colours... I thought I'd show you the very few variations my hair has taken over the last few years!
The shortest it's ever been ;)
Me (with baby sister!) growing my locks slowly!
One night when I was living in Las Palmas back in 2004 I had insomnia - so cut myself a fringe!
Back from Las Palmas, in my last year of uni I began having highlights - as you probably know, hair gets lighter and lighter - soon after this stage I thought enough was enough! TOO blonde for my skin tone!

I went on to have blonder tips as the highlights grew out...
After a few months in the NZ and Aussie summer, 2 years ago my hair was naturally very sunkissed - I like it!

But just a month later decided to go RED!

And then had to dye my hair dark brown to cover it when it started fading and I grew bored of it...!

And now as you know my hair is back to its natural shade:

So today I am looking forward to trying something new!
Does anyone else have this quandary with their hair?!

Bon Voyage!

Hi all! Yay Friday is finally here!! The Rugby World Cup began this evening and the bf is currently glued to the television - we are going to miss the first ten days, but hope to enjoy some of the matches and atmosphere when we get back.

SO tomorrow I am going to Fiji! Whoop! Today I had a lunchtime appointment for a haircut and Kerastase treatment. I don't go to the hairdressers that often as my hair is so long, so I make the most of it when I do.

Here's a coupla shots of my new hair, all bouncy and blowdried:

I also treated myself to some Kerastase goodies!

I apologise for this being upside down - WHOOPS!
I'm currently up to my eyes doing THIS!

And thoroughly enjoy the Gold Lounge perks whenever we fly Air NZ :)

I'm about to set some pre-set posts for next week (fingers crossed they work) but otherwise I will catch up with you all when I'm back - BE GOOD!! ;D

PS I have set a 15% discount code in my Etsy shop whilst I'm away :)

New In: Sadie's been shopping (a lot!)

Hi all, how was your weekend? Hope you all had a great time! I had a fun weekend and have some SHOPPING to show you!

As I mentioned, I'm going to Fiji in 10 days, so wanted to get some cheapish new clothes to take with me. I find that year on year I have taken the same dresses to Miami and the Bahamas in 2008, Samoa 2009, Fiji and the Whitsundays in 2010 and was determined not to do it this year! I don't get the chance to wear these types of clothes other than on a tropical holiday, which is why they've come with me each year. So I bought a couple of newbies to mix in with the trusty oldies!

So here are the new holiday clothes!
A beach top that was a total bargain - $8!

I love this dress, it was $16 and is such a cute holiday dress! It's a thick cotton so is really stiff and lovely :D

Another top - this one buttons up the front and has a drawstring around the waist. LOVE the colours. Also $7
A fairly plain blue dress but it looked really nice on. I thought I can also get use out of this in every day life! $40

The bf when he saw me buying this top - "Not MORE animal print!" HA! $20
A playsuit which I envisage with high wedges! $35
Love the wooden buttons!
A super long maxi dress which will NEED high wedges!! $60

This dress looks really elegant, and I can wear it to work when the temperature gets a bit warmer! $50

A lot of new clothes to squeeze into my wardrobe!
I told myself I DID NOT need sandals. I have tonnes of sandals from last summer. But when the bf was busy in one shop, I went a-wandering and spotted these fabulously sick glitter numbers and sadly couldn't leave without them. I've even already worn them on Saturday night!!
Do you love them!? $100
I bought the exact same wedge last summer, in cream and rope. They are SO comfy.
ALSO new in, but not holiday related:
Genuine pearl drop earrings. Very exciting!!
Some jumbo heated rollers - any tips on use?? I've never tried them before!

My fabulous Michael Kors watch! I used the voucher that I won on Aprilia's blog towards this beaut!
Lots of new stuff - eek. What have you bought lately? :)
