Shh By Sadie on Once'It

Hi all, I MADE IT HOME! Yay! I don't recommend these 37 hour journeys to anyone. You get on the plane fresh as a daisy and disembark looking like a hobo! It's good to be home though.

I'm just writing a quick post today to say I WILL be blogging from Wales. AND my Shh By Sadie jewellery is for sale on 'invite only' site Once'It tomorrow!! A limited number of pieces will be for sale at discounted prices. This is one of the things that kept me frantically busy last week before I left NZ.

To access the sale, use this link (and feel free to share it!)

Weekend Snapshots

Hi all, as you may know, I'm a big fan of Instagram (you can find me @sadiesadiesadie). Because of my addiction to this app I find myself snapping pics of pretty much everything I do!

Here are a few snaps of what I've been up to over the weekend, including attending the launch of Matchbox Studios on my lonesome!....
I brunched alone! The bf pretty much always makes breakfast / brunch on Saturdays but he was in Auckland, so despite waiting for my breakfast to arrive, by midday (yep, for reals, I was one lazy mare!) I was hungry enough to make my own ;)
PS how good is George Foreman  - grilled mushrooms are such a treat and all you need is a splash of balsamic vinegar!
I got my craft on. I made this necklace for myself with the plan of wearing it that night at the gallery launch I attended - alone!! - due to the bf being outta town. I did meet up with him afterwards when he came straight to town from the airport to meet me :)
The skull is huge! And the beads I bought whilst in Gay Paree

I wore this sick-as vintage jacket thing over a vest and leather-look leggings. I didn't wear the new necklace in the end!
I picked the jacket up a couple of weeks ago along with another vintage blazer that is yet to be collected from the dry cleaner - oops.

A sneak peek of some of the new designs I worked on over the weekend. I <3 them and have already decided to keep two for myself!
Chocolate nails matched the frosty weather we've been having.
I found this on the bench at the bus stop. A thimble! Really?!?!
And these are the accessories I ended up wearing - instead of the gigantor skull I'd made especially for the occasion. Ah well, I'm a fickle lady :)
Faux fur snood, ASOS thanks to my Mum; Vintage clutch, Recycle Boutique; Necklaces both Shh By Sadie :)
Have you ever attended an event alone? How'd it go?

DIY + Pink

Well things are exciting with my jewellery line Shh By Sadie at the moment!
There's a new gallery and boutique opening this weekend called Matchbox Studios and I have my own 'cube' within it.

Designers set out their cubes themselves, and so I was wracking my brains to think of a simple but cool way to display my jewellery.

And I came up with this:

I bought wooden letters 's' and two 'h' and sprayed them PINK!
This was the first time I'd ever used spraypaint and it was so much fun. And the colour was perfect!!

This is how they came out - just one coat of pink!

A test-run in the house
And the finished product set up at Matchbox!
I wanted to display things prettily, but without cluttering it all up. So I think this works quite well. There have been quite a few comments on my display on the Matchbox Facebook page already! Yay!

The shop has its launch party this Saturday. I am tres excited!!!!

Weekend Market

Hi all! I know, I know - it's been SO long since I've posted. It's been a bit insane! And each time I go to write a post I realise I need to take a photo of something or other, and then never get time to actually DO that.

So I thought I'd update you on the market I attended on Saturday. It was a great afternoon and some of my new designs went down a treat (which is always good!)...

These necklaces pretty much sold straight away :)

One of my new designs - the pink cross necklace.
Sweet Swallow necklaces and a combination of flower and GNOME rings. Yes GNOMES! Bit mad eh?!?!
Blurry pic - soz!
Illustration anchor charms and skull and cross bracelets.
Button and flower earrings
MY NEW DELIGHTS! OMG I am so obsessed with these ponies right now!
They had grown women cooing over them so it's good to know it's not just me that has a carousel pony fetish! ahahahahah.
I went for a small table this time (big ones were fully booked) but I think I had much better success with a small table as it's less distracting. Any comments?? :)
What did you do on Saturday?

Easter break, part two!

Hi all, SO glad it's the weekend again - wouldn't it be nice to have three day work weeks all the time?!

Here are the remainder of the pictures of  my weekend in Auckland. We also had a couple of days of sightseeing, drinking and shopping in Wellington but I don't want to overload you with photos so I'll keep it short ;)

We caught the ferry to Waiheke Island - and check out the cruise ship that was moored up in the harbour!
Waiheke is BEAUTIFUL!
We had lunch with my friend who was there over Easter too - this was our view!
I took one of my favourite new Shh pieces with me - coral and pink of course ;)
We dined at the Orbit revolving restaurant again. It was my third time there, and actually the service was the worst we'd encountered. Sad face. :(
This is the glass walkway at the top of the tower....scary!!
Views of the city
Rosy cheeked after dinner, wine and cocktails! Oh and high altitude! ;)
Let's hope this weekend is as fun - what do you have planned?
