Back to the roadtrip - snowboarding!

Hi all, thanks for all of your kind comments about my craft fair last week, I always find it useful to get feedback! :)

I didn't finish sharing the roadtrip photos last week (I got distracted by craft fairs and Michael Kors watches), so here are some of my snowboarding pics...
We drove up from Queenstown to Cardrona
I never feel comfortable snowboarding, as I have only been three times (including this trip) and am much more at home on a city break than a ski trip! But I did impress myself with my progress this time!

The boyfriend is an excellent snowboarder so he was my teacher for a wee while before he headed up to the 'proper' slopes for some swishing action of his own.
Feeling like a pro in my ski wear! ;)
Check Ed being cheeky in the background!

The bf and Ed messing around on the nursery slopes

Finding my feet on the first day....
Before losing them pretty quickly!
I managed to fall off the magic carpet TWICE with the board stuck to my feet. This time they let me stand on it OFF the board, thankfully!!!

All this board on and off lark drove me nuts!

Glad to be heading back to the hotel after day one!

Day two and I was very proud to be on the magic carpet ATTACHED to my board!!!
View from the magic carpet - gorgeous!

Look at me move! ;)

Feeling a lot more confident - no falls all day!!!

And here is a video (for those of you who are interested!) in me snowboarding down the nursery slopes ALL BY MYSELF ;) Hahahahaha. (Hope it works!)

Aren't you proud of me!??! ;)

Do you ski or snowboard?

Wild Welly Weather!

Hi all!! I haven't forgotten you, I promise!

Things have been a bit mad here this week. Firstly, there's been SNOW!!! Wellington had its first snow fall since 1975! And some Kiwis went snow mad! I'm not used to a HUGE amount of snow in the UK, but the last couple of years there's been a big snowfall in winter. So I am kinda used to it now.
Snow varied greatly from area to area - but this was the extent of my snow!!
However, here in Welly some people were panicking and staying indoors over the merest sprinkling! Which is interesting considering they have earthquakes and general BAD WEATHER all the time, you'd think they'd take some snow in their stride :)

It did look very beautiful. Here is a wonderful video that's been very popular this week, filmed here in Welly.

We also had a freaky ice storm on Monday night. Now THAT scared the bejeezus outta me!! The bf and I were sat at the kitchen table after work and all of a sudden lightning, thunder and the lights in our apartment blew all at the same time!!! I could tell the lightning had been close, and shortly afterwards FIVE fire engines sped up past our house. Apparently an apartment block had been struck! And an airplane was struck at the airport too! So we had no TV or internet all of Monday evening and some of Tuesday evening.

Other than the snow I have spent every spare minute preparing for my first ever craft fair tomorrow!! I am SO VERY EXCITED about it!! I have made cards and tags for my items and had a "dress rehearsal" of the table last night. Hope it's good fun as I have bored the bf to death this week with it all!! ;)
Here's some of my preparations for the craft fair tomorrow!
I love my earring cards and tags!! I designed them all by myself! ;)

Have you ever experienced dramatic weather conditions???

Road Trip: Christchurch to Punakaiki to Franz Josef

Hi all, it's been hard to cut down the photos of this trip because everything in the South Island is so darned scenic!! Some photos are on my bf's camera, and some are on Ed's huge camera, so you are in luck as I won't be tempted to spam you with even MORE shots!

Ed is better now - he made a great recovery and even joined my bf and I with 8 friends at an engagement dinner on Friday night after being released from hospital just hours earlier!! He's back in the sunny Bahamas now where he can recoup in the heat!

Snow in Christchurch!
The bf and his sister!

My "brother-in-law" having fun in the snow!!

The West Coast

Trying to keep the glamour with some red lippy!!!

This is a tradition I started several years ago whilst driving around Madeira so I always try and get this shot on holidays!

A bar in Franz Josef - before the dreadful glacier hike the next day!!

Ed played in a pool tournament. A girl won!!
How was your weekend?? :)
