30 Before 30 - have you?

Howdy! So I'm in my last year before the BIG 3-0 and have decided to get on with making a '30 before i'm 30' list. So before I make this ever-so-important list, I want to know if you've ever made one yourself? And do you have any funny / interesting suggestions for me?
My sisters and I as kids - I've always had a thing for market stalls by the seems of it! ;)
I am going to put things in my list that I want to do, or do again. That's one thing my bf couldn't understand.
I said to him that I want to stay out dancing until 6am.
He said, haven't you done that?
Yes, once, ten years ago.
So why would you put it on your list?
Because I want to do it again!
He still didn't get it.

Today I read Cheryl's 26 before 26 (lucky girl has four years on me!) and it made me sit down and start planning mine. And then I realised that I've always been the kind of person that just goes and gives things a go when they want to do things, and making my list became difficult.

Here are some of the things I'm proud of accomplishing in the last 12 months:
Climbing Franz Josef glacier in the RAIN. (With a sulk or two)

Learning to snowboard very basically. There may have been a sulk here too.

Clay pigeon shooting for the first time - and hitting my targets by the end of it! (NO sulks here)

Organising and pulling off Sweet Fashion Auction!! WOW!
Starting Shh By Sadie. THAT was scary!

Quad biking at Cape Kidnappers
Climbing Mount KauKau with a HANGOVER! Thanks BF!!
Organising a large horse riding expedition AND getting my boot pooped on WHILST sitting on a horse - impressive right?!
Here are my draft first ideas for my new list:

1. Stay out dancing until 6am (ahem, as above OBVS!!)
2. Go back to New York (another 'repeat')
3. Lose at least a stone
4. Do something DIFFERENT with my hair
5. Swim in the sea here in NZ
6. Do something fun at least once a week
7. Manage the Butterfly Creek hike without keeling over like last time...
8.......?

And that's all I've come up with for now!
I don't want to jump out of a plane or anything (HELL NO!) so I need to think of more fun things to do before i'm 30 - 23 more of them in fact.

So help me!
Please make your suggestions below - and send me links to your lists if you've done them! :)

Sweet FA - Some Pics!

Hello there! Well this time last week I was up to my eyes in clothes and feeling very sweaty indeed (YES TMI!!). Sweet F.A. was a week ago today and I am still trying to get rid of the unsold clothing - what a long drawn-out process it is :)

It was such a busy time getting ready for the event that I didn't get a chance to take any photographs which I am SO annoyed at myself for. SAD FACE. My friend Kath did snap a few but they're not the best - they WILL give you a general idea of what it was like though.

We had over 700 items of clothing, approximately 70 ladies on the night (about three gents too!) and sold over $2000 worth of pre-loved clothing. Wowzers! The event finished at 9pm and then my friends and I had to pack up the clothes we'd spent so long hanging out...that was pretty heart breaking and I flopped into bed with the biggest backache I'd ever felt at 12.30am!

Can you spot the male?! :)

Quick snap of me at my till - and yes that is a cocktail you see!!!!:)

We held the event at Dockside Bar and it was the perfect space :)

Courtney, my 'deputy dawg' at her makeshift desk!

I swore I didn't ever want to see a bag of clothing EVER again, but now we're already in discussions to hold a new and improved Sweet F.A. in March 2012. Watch this space!!!

2 sleeps, 2 sleeps!

Hey all! Well, BUSY AIN'T THE WORD!!! Just two sleeps till the big event - OMG! And on top of that, I have a black tie dinner on Friday, a full-time job, countless birthdays, my jewelery (3 markets before Dec) AND this new social media commission too. I have been super impressed with my own organizational skills but I'm also SUPER worn out. SO. TIRED.

This weekend the girls and I headed to a bach about 40 minutes up the coast - it had a hot tub RIGHT on the waterfront and I enjoyed several glasses of wine, a dip in the tub and even ran into the sea at midnight. Yes I was letting go of the stress of the last month! Good times. We also sorted TWO cars full of clothing for the auction. We now have over 700 items for sale on Wednesday night!!!!! OMG. And that means rails and coat hangers to hang them all on!!! EEK.

It was pretty grey on Saturday morning, and here are some of the bottles from the night before!
Nice sea view, huh!
The front of the bach was a little weather beaten.

And the neighbour's bach was amazing!

Some of the clothes we sorted....

And more...........!
One of the girls snapped up these "Dorothy" shoes straight away!
The bach had a cool nautical theme.

Some of the clothes I started tagging last night....(some are a lot more exciting than a denim jacket and dungarees, I promise!!)
Now that some clothes have been tagged and hung, the bf can finally reach his shoes again!!!

Tagging headquarters

I've been interviewed for a Wellington newspaper and they wanted a Sweet F.A. related photo, so the bf quickly snapped this before work this morning!
PHEW! I really can't wait for Wednesday night, but until then there's plenty more bag carrying, tagging and sorting to go through....why do I come up with these ideas?! ;)

What I wore: New red jacket!!

Hi all, I wore this outfit to dinner last week with the bf. With how busy we both are lately I feel as though we haven't seen each other, so it was nice to go out for a spontaneous dinner. (It was also useful because we ate at The Tasting Rooms which are sponsoring my event, so I dropped some posters off at the same time. Multi-tasking all the way!)
Jacket, Glassons, Tunic, TK Maxx, Leggings, Glassons.
Earrings, Diva.

Watch, Michael Kors, Ring, Topshop, Bangle, Primark.
Nail varnish, OPI

Bag, TK Maxx, Shoes, Next

Close up of the hair 'do' - I'd plaited the front of it :)

Well this morning I have already received around 15 emails from women wanting to submit clothing into the auction next Weds. The deadline was two days ago but the event was picked up on a really popular Wellington 'what's on' newsletter so word has spread like wildfire. O.M.G! I have had very little sleep already this week and can't believe how busy I let myself get! My friends and I are all heading away for the weekend straight from work, (most of us are catching the train too!) - one of us is driving a car load of the clothes down so that we can sort and tag them this weekend. Busy times. Just 5 days till the big night though!!

What are your weekend plans?

What I wore: Colours Galore!

Hi all, how was your weekend? Mine was SO FUN and SOOO busy! I had another market and had the best sales ever - I have photos so will post tomorrow. AND Sweet F.A. preparations are well underway so I will share more with you this week too!

Here are a quick few photos I found that I forgot to put up from my Fijian holiday. Excuse the bleary, drunken eyes, they were taken at 2am after dancing to the local police band on the beach - great fun!

I actually don't like these shoes with this dress, but had no better option and refused to wear flats!
Dress, Farmers; Clutch, Dorothy Perkins; Wedges, Hannahs.
Ring and bracelets, Shh By Sadie.
Nail varnish, Chi Chi.
TIME FOR BED MISSY! ;)
Necklace, H&M (Berlin)
Earrings, Shh By Sadie.

Earlier that night....before the dancing.... :)

Ahh Fiji seems like a LIFETIME ago, not a month ago!!!

What did you do this weekend?

Can you tell what it is?

Hi all! How's your week going? I have had another busy week so far. Last night I received two deliveries of clothing for the Sweet F.A. fashion auction I am organising. I had a quick look through the first delivery and there are Miu Miu, Marc Jacobs and Moschino shoes (all too big sadly), Sass & Bide jeans, a World blazer AND an amazing Lanvin for H&M dress that I may have my beady eye on! Yay! So the event organisation is going well.

What are your Halloween plans? We have friends visiting from Sydney this weekend and so the bf and I are having a Halloween themed bbq on Friday night. I've made some quick DIY decorations and am going to dash out later when I have a spare hour to see if I can find some more cheapies. I also want to make some Halloween theme (EASY!!) cupcakes - PLEASE, DO YOU HAVE A SUGGESTION?? :)

On Saturday night we are all going to a Halloween party at a friend's house. Last year I went as a clown (I will post pics tomorrow!) and this year I felt I had left it too late to get a good (cheap and easy!) costume with everything that's been going on. BUT yesterday I rushed out of work at 4pm and found THIS fabulously sick dress in a charity shop for $10! WOW! OK, it doesn't actually do up at the back (it's very narrow) but I'm hoping to DIY a solution to that - I just loved the sleeves!

SO - can  you guess what my costume is going to be??? :)
Excuse the floor - I took these photos in work! The dress is also still damp, I hand washed it last night as it smelt like grannies, but it STILL smells! Gross!

Are you dressing up for Halloween??

What's been keeping me busy: Sweet F.A.!

Hi all! So the bf is back from France - yay! I had some fab French chocolates and some gorgeous bird beads to make jewellery with - I will take pics tomorrow to show you :)

I've been a bit quiet on the blog-front lately because, apart from the cold I've had, all of my spare time has been spent organising an event! It's called Sweet F.A. Cocktail Party Fashion Auction and is taking place in a fabulous waterfront bar next month. It's been a LOT of work because I am working on a ZERO budget!
I have often seen fashion swap parties and fashion blogger events on various blogs and am always disappointed at the lack of these kind of events in Wellington. We have loads of events here, but none of them are quite the cocktail - clothes - girly events I've seen online. Add that to the fact that my friends and I wouldn't mind trying to sell some of the clothes we've got hanging in the backs of our wardrobes, and that's why I decided to go for it!

I spent HOUUURS on the weekend emailing PRs, companies, shops and restaurants asking for items donated in return for logos and mentions on all of the advertising. So far I have had 14 donations!! They range from a 10 week Bikram yoga course, a $100 bar & restaurant voucher to a $100 L O'ccitane voucher and a heated eyelash curler from Model Co! Big whoop!

I'm super excited about the event now that we've finalised the venue (just yesterday) but I also think I am a little mad for taking it all on at the moment! November is always the busiest time of year here with parties and birthdays AND i'm also signed up for three more markets before December.
Who says you can't at least TRY and do it all?! ;)
