Sunday Crafternoon and Giveaway Winner!!!!

Hello, I meant to post the crafternoon photos yesterday but I misplaced my camera cord - whoops! On Sunday three friends from work came to my house and we had an afternoon of drinking tea, eating cakes and crafting! I wish I could do this EVERY Sunday! I made mini cupcakes the day before (I was having a night out on Saturday and thought it best to be prepared in case of hangover!) and even though I am not a pro-baker, I thoroughly enjoyed letting loose with the glitter icing (as you can see!).

I enjoyed the opportunity to use part of my teacup collection!

 It was great fun and I don't think I've ever drunk so much tea!

SEVEN RANDOM THINGS:

1. I learned Welsh from the ages of 12 to 14 then dropped it as a subject to continue with Spanish instead.

2. I used to be a CSI-aholic (not any more), and was pleased when I realised that I'd visited all three cities in one year - I started in Miami in June, New York in November and hit Las Vegas in April! Whoop!

 3.  I have TINY ears and TINY hands (sadly this does not relate to my thighs or hips!).

4. My favourite cocktail is called Betty Knows Best and is a mix of alcohol, chi, passionfruit puree and basil...YUM.

5. My favourite cuisine is anything Mexican (as a veggie Mexican, Turkish, Greek or Italian always seem to have the best non-meat options!)

6. I am a wee bit homesick at the moment because since being in NZ I have managed to go home 5 times in under two years. This is my longest period of non-Welsh-family-shopping-fun!

Still here!

Hello my lovelies! It has been another mad, frantic, busy week. It's now 6pm Saturday and I've hopped in the shower in preparation for my first "proper" night out in I don't know HOW long! How times have changed!!

Here are a few quick pics to show you what I've been up to!

I bought this dress from the NEW and much nicer Recycle Boutique. I admit it looks like a sack in this photo! I'm planning on wearing it tonight with a vintage belt and some bling! And yes, those little cheeksters on the canvas are the bf and me in Oz last year!

I bought this cute wooden box on our weekend away last weekend and it's now home to some of my *ahem* small collection of jewellery.

 

I made this little guy!Well, I ordered the bead, popped a headpin through him and strung it on a gold chain. Cute!

I spent the afternoon baking cupcakes and decorating them with glitter icing pens for a crafternoon I am having tomorrow. I will show you PROPER pics then. I figured I MAY have a sore head tomorrow so wouldn't want to be doing it then!

I made friends with the bf (here's why we fell out) after he bought me these and apologised :)

I have still got two of the nails on!! I peeled the rest of them off last weekend, but have kept the two 'ring finger' nails as I think it's cool!

I went to the launch of the bf's conference last night. It was great fun and I will tell you more about it in a few days!

Wednesday Wardrobe Challenge: Headbands

Hi all, how is your week going? It's Thursday afternoon here and already the week is flying by!

Yesterday the bf's first guests for his conference arrived so he went out for dinner and drinks with them. A 'quick bite to eat' turned into him rolling in at 12.30am when I was tucked up in bed!!! I was NOT AMUSED and sent him to the couch! Hahaha. That was the first time I've ever done that, and I was surprised he (eventually) went! 

Have you ever done this, or am I the only psycho around here?! :)

Well yesterday was Wednesday wardrobe challenge and it was a really easy one for me - headbands! I love a headband (I must show you my extensive collection one day, not QUITE as impressive as Blair Waldorf's, but impressive nonetheless!)

As usual, here is the group photo from work!

YES my eyes are CLOSED!! And yes we all look deformed as we try and show off our headbands!

I wore a headband I made myself - I love it!

What have you been up to this week?

Weekend Away

Hi all, how have you all been? Sorry for not posting for a few days, I have still got a cold and so have been taking it easy.

How was Fourth of July for all of my American blogging friends?? I have seen so many fabulous photos and stories of celebrations online, it seems like great fun!

I FINALLY had the last session of the root canal yesterday afternoon so when it all settles I should be fine and dandy!

The bf and I went away for the weekend. He's organised a big international conference which is happening this weekend, so it was nice to spend some time together before he's rushed off his feet! We went to a vineyard estate called Parehua and stayed in one of their 'luxury secluded cottages' - it was fabulous. We didn't do much other than watch films, drink some wine and relax as I was still quite sucky with the cold, but I DID manage to take a dip in the hot tub too! For medicinal purposes only of course!!

Tonight it's my friend's birthday. She's also from the UK and so we are having a big 'expat' birthday meal to celebrate! Good times!
