Shh By Sadie on Once'It

Hi all, I MADE IT HOME! Yay! I don't recommend these 37 hour journeys to anyone. You get on the plane fresh as a daisy and disembark looking like a hobo! It's good to be home though.

I'm just writing a quick post today to say I WILL be blogging from Wales. AND my Shh By Sadie jewellery is for sale on 'invite only' site Once'It tomorrow!! A limited number of pieces will be for sale at discounted prices. This is one of the things that kept me frantically busy last week before I left NZ.

To access the sale, use this link (and feel free to share it!)

The Pinnacles

Howdy! Recently we had a visit from the bf's sister. He decided it was THE time that he was finally going to visit the Pinnacles. Now, he's been going on about walking to the Pinnacles for a LONG time, so I was glad he was finally going to find a time to do it, and then stop mentioning it! Haha.

(What on earth are the Pinnacles? They're in the top 101 must-dos for Kiwis, click here for info!)

It was a gorgeous autumn day - super sunny! En route we stopped off in Martinborough for a cheese and wine lunch. Perfect pre-hike nourishment.

LOOK at that blue sky!

We were slightly delayed by some locals....
But finally reached the starting point of the hike...

Does anyone else see something in the shape of the pinnacle here?!
It was a hard hike, but a beautiful day and an amazing destination.

Puffed out! :)
It involved jumping over several large streams! This was hilarious as the bf's sister was scared of falling in!!
About 2 hours later, we were back to the start.
And the bf finally had seen his 'Pinnacles' :)

Easter break, part two!

Hi all, SO glad it's the weekend again - wouldn't it be nice to have three day work weeks all the time?!

Here are the remainder of the pictures of  my weekend in Auckland. We also had a couple of days of sightseeing, drinking and shopping in Wellington but I don't want to overload you with photos so I'll keep it short ;)

We caught the ferry to Waiheke Island - and check out the cruise ship that was moored up in the harbour!
Waiheke is BEAUTIFUL!
We had lunch with my friend who was there over Easter too - this was our view!
I took one of my favourite new Shh pieces with me - coral and pink of course ;)
We dined at the Orbit revolving restaurant again. It was my third time there, and actually the service was the worst we'd encountered. Sad face. :(
This is the glass walkway at the top of the tower....scary!!
Views of the city
Rosy cheeked after dinner, wine and cocktails! Oh and high altitude! ;)
Let's hope this weekend is as fun - what do you have planned?

Chocolate massage + Cakes = Easter

Hi all, thanks for your kind words about my breathing difficulties....this week Monday was still pretty bad, but since then it's been getting a LOT better. So far, today is the first day that *touch wood* I haven't been breathing funny! So hopefully I'm on the mend!

In my attempt to 'relax' (in case my breathing WAS caused by stress) I last night had the MOST AMAZING body treatment - it was an Easter special at Bodyscape spa in town and involved a full body scrub with organic cocoa, moisturising, a massage and a mini pedicure. I smelt good enough to eat afterwards!
I chose a bright coral for my toes <3
If you ever come across this organic cocoa range - I highly recommend it!
I also organised an Easter themed morning tea for work this morning and baked some quick and simple cupcakes to bring with me...The bf had to buy a whole Mini Eggs Easter egg so that I could decorate them, as we couldn't find Mini Eggs in NZ otherwise! So I'm sure he'll 'dispose' of (read: eat) the rest of the chocolate egg afterwards!

Here's a peek at some of the morning tea goodies:
Some man-handled ginger bread men!

Poor chap!!
My cupcakes...
Fresh hot cross buns...
Home made cookies...
Some of my colleagues enjoying the morning tea- and J wearing her "Easter bonner" hahaha!
Do you celebrate Easter?

A sunny few days...and a random breath or two!

Hi all, how was your weekend? I've had a wee bit of discomfort with my breathing for a week now, and on Friday evening I ended up at the doctors and then an emergency clinic having x-rays for a suspected partially collapsed lung - yes - WTF?! As it turns out, the x-rays were clear, the physical examination was clear, and so $170 later I'm told to just see how it goes! Argh!

Basically, I feel like I can't take a 'full breath' and then feel panicky / like I have to yawn and can't. Maybe it's stress or anxiety?! But I've never had this before. I've never smoked, never had asthma. So I'm just trying to cope with it at the moment but it makes everyday just horrible. I hate it.

Has anyone had this? Or have any suggestions?!!? A friend at work suggested iron deficiency (I'm a veggie) so I'm going to give the iron supplements a go in the hope that SOMETHING helps. I was even listening to panpipes and drinking chamomile tea last night in bed!

Anyway, I still managed to get out and about with my "discomfort", and here are a few snapshots of my last few days in the sunshine....

Too many drinks and dinner with the girls on Friday night
Dusk in the city on Friday night..
A stroll to lunch on Saturday...this is the road I live on - AMAZING!

A quick lie on the grass while the bf had to run into work...

Part of the beautiful old building I work in...
Watching the bf surf (as I sat on the 'dog end' of the beach with poops and all sorts going on right next to me!!!)
Spotting my jewellery in the window of a Wellington boutique as I walked past on Saturday night!
Stunning views of the city on Sunday morning

Lunch at Scorching Bay (Orlando Bloom lives near here!!!!I WILL spot him one day!) ;)
The Paua shell mural at Scorcharama cafe - so cool!

What did you get up to?

Share my journey!

Hello, and thanks for bearing with me as I update you on my last moments in the UK. I'm always sad to say goodbye to my home and my family, especially after spending so long there this time. I'm still missing home right now. Sniff sniff.

Something that lessened the sadness was the panic of fitting a million new beads and crafty bits into my (very generous) luggage allowance of three suitcases! My parents are horrified at how much I compulsively bought! But I couldn't resist as these things are hard to come by in NZ! (That was my justification anyway!)

I managed it (just about!) and had to leave a few things behind (for next time)...

Me and my three suitcases and three pieces of cabin baggage - and the hat I had to wear cos I couldn't pack it! hahaha!

Bye UK!! :(

The journey was eased by a wee upgrade to business class to Hong Kong - so sipping bubbly wine whilst waiting to take off was quite nice :)

Hong Kong - 13 hours in and a quick stop to refuel, strectch my legs and brush my teeth!!

And then eventually I was back at home with tonnes of this to unpack!!

And I have to figure out where to store all of these beads and crafty bits. (This about half of what I brought back!!!!) Yes I am mad. Bead-mad.
Have you ever been away on an extended vacation? How did you find settling back in? :)
