Noosa Nights

Au revoir my friends, I am off on a wee jaunt (read: long weekend) to Australia with the better half. We are in work this morning (boo), finish at 12 and fly at 3! We head to Brisbane for two nights and Noosa for another two nights. Very exciting! Hoping for some warm(er) weather and some shopping in Brizzy!

I have been to Noosa before, a coupla years ago, with my BFF on a backpacking trip....
We liked to see ourselves as "flash packers" rather than "back packers"!

My bestie! Also mentioned here.
These huge earrings featured a few times on the trip. Jewellery essentials for a backpacking trip of COURSE!
We bussed from Cairns to Sydney on these babies. And they were fantastic!
We really enjoyed Noosa - sunshine + gorgeous beaches. We'd had our fair share of rain in the first week or so of the trip!

And played 'shithead' (a silly card game) with a few wines and a few randoms!
These were our drunk "poker faces". Don't ask!
PS notice the bling - I did not travel light!!
A midnight stroll on Noosa beach
 We encountered some wildlife....
There were TWO of these freaky spiders! We fled!!
A snake we encountered on a stroll. Thankfully it was dead!!
This trip was my first hostel experience and I'd not relished the idea!! But it was pretty entertaining.
This dude crashed into bed one night. Then rolled over and fell OFF the bunk beds!! Me and my BFF thought he was hilarious and NUTS!

So I look forward to this trip to Noosa!

Mid week wining and dining

Buenos dias amigos!
Last week the bf and I used a voucher I'd received for a three course lunch with matched wine at the Hippopotamus restaurant. We'd had the voucher for almost six months and could never find a time to use it (the bf is ever-so-important(!!) and never takes a work lunch break!!) so last week he managed to find a slot in his diary and we went to lunch. UNFORTUNATELY, that morning I woke up feeling crappy with a cold! Typical.

We did have a lovely lunch though, despite snotty noses and congested heads.
Hippopotamus is within the Museum Hotel in Wellington

The outside (and inside actually) of the building is fabulous!
Look closely and you'll see a hippo in my glass ;)

A view of the harbour - and my house on the far right in the distance!

I ordered the veggie option - roast carrot risotto with beetroot foam for my main. I loved how pink it was (SUCH a girl, huh!)
And my dessert was raspberry panacotta. I'm not much of a dessert person, but I loved the presentation.

The bf scoffed his lemon and pine nut tart
As an art hotel, there are fabulous exhibits and pieces everywhere - including chairs

And motorbikes in the lobby!

And this little fella greeting you from the elevator!

Bonjour Paris!

Hello all! This is just a quick post before I leave for Paris this afternoon. I'm popping off with my parents, sister and four year old niece! And apparently the weather there is far colder than Britian is at the moment - OMG!

I have a couple of photos to share with you from the first time I went to Paris - the bf and I had been dating just a few weeks and he took me to Paris as a birthday present in March 2008....

Even in those days I loved a fashion mag in the airport!

Don't let the sun fool you - it was FREEZING!

SO sophisticated! haha

Have you ever been to Paree?

Mammoth Tooth

Hi all, did you have a good weeked? As I mentioned, I went to the English city of Bath for the weekend. Bath's gorgeous - it has amazing architecture, a huge cathedral and is the site of the only hot springs in the UK - hence its name! It has a large Roman baths that still functions today. But OH MY was the weather freezing!

Tea and cake!
Bath is postcard pretty :)

At the end of the first night out - we went for a meal in a bistro pub with my parents....boy it was COLD!
Wet look leggings, Primark; leopard print boots, ASOS (seen here and here); lace top, Matalan; coral jacket, Topshop; leather clutch, Bracher Emden London via TK Maxx.

The deets: Watch, Michael Kors, gold bangle, Hay Luv, white and gold friendship bracelet, Primark, skull ring, Matalan; Hand painted ceramic tiger head necklace, craft fair; black ring, Topshop; my NEW PURCHASE Bracher Emden bag, TK Maxx.

If you look closely - that's my Ma peering over the wall in the background! Tee hee!

Royal Crescent

To me, this house on the Royal Crescent looks like a lil face! Is it just me?!?!

Cute Bath
And some of the little things I bought....
This AMAZING earring holder was reduced from 30 pounds to 10 in Urban Outfitters. HOPE I manage to carry it back to NZ!
Valentine and anniversary cards for the bf from Paperchase <3
Arm cuffs from Accessorize - I'm going to PARIS on Thursday and my coat is way too draughty up the sleeves!!

This amazing navajo print poncho was also on sale in Urban Outfitters - I already LOVE it :)
A glamorous shot of my first wear of the poncho, taken in the hotel loo! Dahling!

Oh - and in case you were wondering - here's the Mammoth's TOOTH! Hehe....

Where was your latest city break?
